Kragthorpe says he hopes Long will play against UConn
Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe says injured wide receiver Scott Long could return Friday when the Cardinals host Connecticut.
Long has yet to play this season after injuring his foot during training camp. Kragthorpe said he expects Long to return to practice this week and that Long's status will be a game-time decision.
Long caught 27 passes for 358 yards last season and was expected to be Hunter Cantwell's go-to target.
Instead, that position has been filled by sophomore Doug Beaumont, who already has 23 receptions for 279 yards.
Kragthorpe said he also hopes injured offensive linemen George Bussey and Mark Wetterer can return against the Huskies after sitting out Louisville's 38-29 win over Kansas State last week.
